Uhm...My Bad, How Do I Fix it?

Yesterday I got to take a half day (sounds better than it really is...the day FLEW!) so that the satellite tv guy could come and hook it up. The window was from noon to five. So, when I got home, I had a bagel and went on the computer to do a couple things. Then, I sat on the couch and started to read a new magazine. Then, my eyes didn't want to stay shut.

Of course, that's when there's a knock at the door. It was around 2:30 maybe closer to 3:00 when he got there. He looked around, I told him what is where, etc. and I sat back down on the couch and let him go to work. Then, I went back on the computer, and then again back to my magazine. After almost 2 hours, he brought the receiver in and was hooking it up. Things looked like they were going to go really smoothly and he'd be outta there. He said he'd wait to make sure the HD channels come in, and he could show me a couple things about the remote and system.

I knew I'd be able to easily figure it all out but I figured since he was going to stick around a few more minutes, why not? I kept sounding surprised and saying, "Oh wow! Cool!" when he showed me things like how to look on the guide to see what's on 3 days from now. Then, he said my HD channels still didn't come in, so he sat himself down. I put on Comedy Central and "Supertroopers" was on. "Ah, I love this movie!" he said. "Yeah, it's hilarious," I laughed. So, to keep from an awkward silence, we started talking about all kinds of hilarious movies. Like "Superbad", "Borat", "Forgetting Sarah Marshall", "Zack & Miri Make a Porno", "Beerfest", etc.
Figuring between that, and just his general demeanor, I asked him if he smoked the green. Sho 'nuff, he does. So, we talked a little bit 'bout that, and he told me stories of some of the houses he shows up at to do jobs. I offered him a beer since it was his last job of the day and I didn't have any pot to offer. lol. We both had a beer, and realized that my HD channels STILL weren't there.

He called one of his handy dandy numbers to see what was up. It wasn't until I heard him say, "She's only got the local HD channels" that I realized that's all I was supposed to have!!! I started laughing, and told him, "Woops! I think that's all I ordered!" He thought it was pretty funny, and so he just hung up the phone. I hope he didn't think I did that on purpose to keep him there longer...really, it was just a case of 'I'm a dumbass'!

THEN, he totally catches me off guard. He asked what I was doing later. I blurted out, "nothing". He was like, "Well, maybe I could come back with some of my herb and we can smoke and watch one of the funny movies we were talking about."

Ummm.
Ummmmmmmm....(I never know how to say no)
Ummm.
"Okay, yeah."

I think for a couple seconds...while he's blabbering away, "Any requests on movies?"
"Um...no, don't think so. Make sure you call me first...especially since I'm going with my mom for a bit."
(Luckily, he'd heard the convo with my mom where she was asking me to go to the craft store with her!)
"Okay, yeah." It seemed like he'd never leave!!! It was already past 5:30!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! R had already called when he was done with work, but I didn't answer because this guy was chatting and I didn't want to be rude right in the middle of it!

He finally left, saying he'd give me a call. "SHIT, SHIT, SHIT!!!" I called my mom back, "What do I do? I'm screwed!" I told her the story; she goes, "Well, what do you want to do?" and I said, "I don't want to hang out with him." I also explained all the reasons why:

1. He lives like 45 minutes away. Why would he even want to come all the way back? And what if I couldn't get him to leave again, and he'd stay extra long since he lives far!?!?
2. I think he was just being cool, making a new friend...but again...refer to #1. And I just met him...already he just wants to come right back over and watch movies at my place? Maybe he had the wrong idea...
3. He was okay looking, but nothing worth writing home. I'd only like him as a friend anyways.
4. Not really worth me fighting with R about it, and I knew that I'd be unable to lie about it.
5. Um...what if he turns out to be a nutjob?! What if he tried to put on the moves?! Yikes, no!

So, mom helped a lot and said, "Oh, well, just blow him off then." I said, "Yeah, I know, but I don't want to not answer the phone if he calls and be that bitch...so I have to think up what I can say." Mom told me that we'd have to throw in the boyfriend card. She said to say that we live together. I told her that he probably didn't get that vibe of a live-in boyfriend, he may not believe it. But then I thought, well, if he doesn't -- he should take the hint.

Mom and I went to the craft store, and while there, my phone rings. "Oh my gosh, a restricted number? Are you serious?" I yelled. That's a little creepy. "Eh, just answer and get it done with," mom said. Knowing it'd be him anyways, I said, "Yeah, I know" and answered the phone. "I was seeing if you were gonna be around in a little bit and I'd come stop over," he said.
"Um...well, I just got to the store with my mom, so I'm not going to be able to hang out tonight," I said. Oh nooo!!! It was happening again! I had to quit beating around the bush with this guy just to be super nice. "....and....um, sorry but...I thought it'd be okay and cool to hang out, but the boyfriend doesn't agree...(*awkward laugh*)."
"Ohhhh..okay," he said.
"So...yeah, thanks for calling though, I guess I'll...." my voice wavered off, I couldn't be like 'Okay! See ya later!'
"I just thought you were a pretty cool chick," he said.
"Oh yeah, I think you're a pretty cool dude, too," I said.
(laughs)
"Well, thanks.." he said.
"Yup, no problem...sorry" and I think we both kind of were just like, 'yeaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhh...k....byyyeeeeeeeee.'

and that was that. Now, it's done. Phew. I felt really bad about it, but there was no way I could hang out with him in that kind of situation. Poor guy. But then again...restricted number? Really?

I also will admit that when I did get home later on, I checked everywhere to make sure he didn't somehow get in and was hiding somewhere.
Yes, that might sound crazy, or you might think I watch too much tv...but that shit can happen! Better safe than sorry, right?!

Sweet dreams!

Cheers!

Hopefully everyone's holidays went swimmingly. Well, I guess the holidays aren't over JUST yet...but ya know.
Mine were pretty good...nothing too out of the ordinary. Anyone doing anything fun tonight?
R's BFF L (and FL's bro) is having a party tonight at his new place. I haven't been there yet, but I'm excited. It is at one of the best places to get the best view of the city. It should be a good time, most of our friends are all going. I'm just a little worried that FL will be there. I'm not sure if he will be.
This past weekend a group of us went out, and I asked L how FL was doing, and if his girlfriend was here in the States yet. He said he's good and no, she's not here yet. But, then he went on to say something about FL and his g/f getting married in 6 months. WTF?!!?

WTF!?!?

I knew this was going to happen. It's like Pretty Woman in some weird way. Except in this version Julia Roberts lives in a foreign country and needs a green card, so Richard Gere comes to her rescue and is happy to help since he is also in love with her. I don't think I could even make up something like this!

ARGGGHHH!!!

But, I need to get over it. I have known that for quite some time. But then, what would I have to do when I'm bored?

Thought I'd add what song I'm listening to right now: OAR - "Love and Memories"

Irony.

Happy New Years, everyone, and be safe! Cheers!

Hangin' Out with Celebs

So, the last time I talked about the movie stars at my Uncle's house, I'd just met a couple of them. My dad and Uncle said they'd probably be going golfing with them at some point while they're in town.

Well, the next week after meeting them, my dad said that Scott Reeves (Eastwood) called him and they were going golfing. He said that I should come meet up for some drinks at the Country Club afterwards. So, I did. We had a drink there, and then made plans to go to a restaurant nearby. Scott had to go back to the hotel and get cleaned up/changed. My dad decided that he would do the same. So, Dad and his g/f left, and Scott left. My Uncle (aka superfan) decided to go to the hotel and wait for Scott to get ready (LOL!). I wanted to go, too, but as I was leaving my other Uncle was yelling for me because a woman in there wanted to buy one of my books off me. So, I was there for another 10 minutes, and when I walked out, everyone was gone.

So, I drive to the restaurant and wait in the parking lot. I called my Uncle and he said that he and Scott were having a drink at the bar, waiting for some other members of the cast to finish getting ready, then they'd be out to meet us. Once my dad got there, I went inside and we sat at the bar. In the meantime, my mom and stepdad were hungry, so they came to the restaurant too, but sat at a different table. I went and sat with them and chatted when my stepdad said, "There they are, they're walking in..." I turned around, and saw a glimpse of them. "Okay, I gotta go!" I said.

The waitress sat us at a big table in the back room. Carson didn't want to sit on the end against the wall, so I did.

Here's what our table setup looked like:

Stephen Scott Dad his g/f

-------------------------------------------

--------------------------------------------

Me Julianne Carson Uncle

The first ones to sit down were myself, Julianne, Carson, and Scott. So, imagine my excitement when Stephen had other seats to choose from, but he sat across from me! He put his hand out and said, "Hey, how are you, great to see you again!"

(Carson & Julianne)

(Stephen & Scott)

Dinner was a fantastic time. I asked how Stephen's 4th of July was, and he told me about how loaded up he got in the city. It was funny, because he was hanging out at places that I am always at. Then, we also talked about alcoholic beverages. How I'm a fan of jager bombs, and he likes them, but won't drink straight jager anymore after a bad experience. And we laugh because he orders a Long Island Iced Tea, and my Bahama Mama was strikingly similar to a Pina Colada. Eww.

And Scott was hilarious, too. The whole evening was full of laughs. So, after a few hours we all hugged and said goodnight. Scott said that he was maybe going into the city that weekend, and he'd give me a call to hang out.

Well, that Saturday night, I hadn't heard from him so I got his # from my dad. I called him and he was in a bad reception spot, and said he'd call me back in half an hour. I wasn't sure if he would or not, but he did! I asked if they were going into the city, but he said they actually did that the night before (Darnit!!!--I was a little bummed they hadn't gotten a hold of me). So, they wanted to stay local, and they were planning to go to a place that I go to all of the time. He said if I ended up down that way, I should stop by. About 15 minutes later, I sent him a text telling him what band was there that night. He text me back and said, "Thanks, hope to see you there!"

Unfortunately, I was unable to make it there that night. I already had some plans, and besides, I figured it might even look a little better that I'm not at their beck & call. Plus, they were in town for another week and a half to 2 weeks. So, we'd have another chance.

Last week, I tried to have that other chance. I went out with friends on Thursday night. I called Scott around 8:30 and told him some friends and I were going out (to that same local bar) and it was going to be a great time, call me if he wants to come. Around midnight he called me back, and he was at another place nearby. He said if he didn't make it there by the time they closed that we'd meet up at the hotel for a drink or something. Well, all kinds of drama happened on my end that night with friends getting into a fight...etc. Stupid shit, really. And I had locked my keys in my car, and gotten kinda drunk...so I really couldn't do much of anything! My friend took me back with her to her house and we hung out until I said I had to go to bed. Shortly after I passed out, my phone was ringing. I looked, and it was Scott! Ha! But, I didn't answer because I HAD to get sleep for work the next day.

Not Kidding

So...this week has been -- well, unbelievable. A couple weeks ago, I was informed that movie producers had asked my Uncle if they could use his house for their movie. The movie is about a girl and her horse. My Uncle lives right by the racetrack, and he's got a beautiful house and some property. So, he agreed.

Monday, he told me that they were at his house to begin filming and would be there most of the week. Then he told me some of the people that were in the movie and which ones were at his house.

Claire Forlani, from "Meet Joe Black" is there. I loooove her. I think she is so pretty, AND she has a british accent, which is awesome. I also really liked her character in the movie "Boys and Girls" with Freddie Prinze Jr. I got to meet her, get a picture, AND I gave her a copy of my book!

Jason Gedrick, from "Desperate Housewives" is also there. He's a super cool guy, and was often tossing around the football with my little cousins.

Scott Reeves (photo: middle) is really cool, too. He is Clint Eastwood's son. He is probably going to go golfing one day soon with my Uncle and my Dad.

Carson Brown, she is soooo cute! She's really nice, and funny, too. My little cousins have a crush on her.

Lou Gossett, Jr. --- Yes, believe it! He and Jason were both in "Iron Eagle" so they've been doing a little reminiscing. But Lou is a super nice and well spoken man. He came right up and introduced himself to my Uncle, Dad, and I.

AND, I save MY most exciting one for last. Stephen Colletti. Yes, from "Laguna Beach". He's also been on "One Tree Hill". Oh, and a couple times on "The Hills" I think. Honestly, I still can't believe it. When he arrived on set, a car pulled up with a bunch of younger girls yelling, "We love you Stephen!!!" It was pretty amusing. Then, my Uncle introduced the 2 of us, and we got a picture. He was cracking jokes with my Uncle and my little cousins. He was also hitting golf balls with them, and he may go golf with my Uncle and Dad, too. My Uncle had said that they talked for about an hour the night before all about golf.

(I loooove this picture!)

Anyways, after awhile, he finally came over to me and started a conversation. And, I gave him a copy of my book as well! It was awesome, really. And now, I'm just thinking, "Wow, I was actually standing there having a normal conversation with Stephen. All by myself." And he was reading the "About the Author" part out loud! Crazy, right? Anyways, I was about to ask him what he was doing later...but he had to go do some scenes. So, I quickly asked how long he's in town for. I thought he'd say until today, but he actually said 3 weeks. (YAY!)(Except for the holiday weekend...think he's leaving today for that.) I was going to stick around and maybe chat with him more when he was done, but the scenes were going to be going on for a long time. So, I thought, "Hmmm, I'll just give him one of my cards with my cell # on the back...". So, I wrote it, and gave it to my Uncle to give him.

Yesterday, my Uncle said he gave Stephen the card and said, "Here's Heather's number if you want to get away from the set, relax, and maybe have a drink. She's a really cool girl." And he told me Stephen was checking out my card and was like, "Oh, okay, cool." and seemed quite positive about it. So, what if he calls?!?!?!?! My friend told me she really thinks that he'll call sometime next week after the holiday weekend and such. I hope so!!! That would be extravagant!

And check this out: how (kind of) crazy and coincidental is this? His birthday is right after mine, AND he celebrated at Stack (restaurant) in the Mirage and then Jet Nightclub! Both of which I have been to! Had I been in town...we could have celebrated our birthdays together! hahahaha I also know one of the managers at Mirage, he's hooked us up in Jet before. Wow, would that have been fun!

Ahhh, well -- everyone have a SAFE and HAPPY 4th of July!!!

I Want a Pretty Dress

The other day I rented "The Other Boleyn Girl" with Natalie Portman and Scarlett Johannsen. Usually I'm not much into those types of movies, but for some reason I'd wanted to see it since seeing the previews. I really liked it, and have become a little intrigued with the history and truth behind the movie. It's about 2 sisters rivalry over Henry VIII. Really good stuff. I recommend watching.
What else? OH! I bought a new hair product by Sunsilk called waves of envy. It helps your hair achieve that beach, surf look. I used to have John Frieda's beach hair, and I loved it, but I don't ever see it anymore so it must be discontinued. (It smelled really good, too!) But, I am happy with the new product and it's made my hair look amazing. Not to mention it cuts back on 'getting ready' time since instead of blow-drying & straightening my hair, I just towel dry it and spritz in the spray and scrunch my hair. Just in the past 2 days, I've gotten numerous complements, including the lady at the 7-11 that I see all the time when getting my morning coffee. And this morning, I didn't even have to do anything with my hair! But, if you do need to revive it a little, you can just scrunch your hair with water to dampen it a bit, then re-spray on the stuff and you're good to go!!!
Last, the new Coldplay album came out on Tuesday. Did anyone get it, and if so, what'd ya think?

Don't want to go home

Sorry about the last post. See, I'd started writing it a few days back while it was still extremely dramatic and fresh in my mind. But, I just got around to finishing it.

I didn't even say that I hope everyone had a great Christmas. I did. I am just loving being here at my mom's. I feel soooo careless while I'm here. I don't have to worry about any of the drama from home. Life is just so much simpler here. But, I guess that's what all little vacays are like.
Still, I get sad when it's time to get home.

What I mainly wanted to write about though, is that we watched "Wind Chill" the other night. Mum rented it from NetFlix. It stars Emily Blunt. It was a super good, but pretty F'd up movie. If you see it, or already have, let me know what you think!

And, last night, we went to see "P.S. I Love You." I LOOOOVED IT. BUT, and this is a HUGE BUT. I had tears running down my face the ENTIRE TIME! Seriously, I am NOT being dramatic right now. Gerard Butler and Jeffrey Dean Morgan are both sooo incredibly delicious in the movie. That, I can't say enough. I won't say any more though because if you are going to see it, I don't want to ruin anything.

Sex Doll

HAHAHAHA! I can't wait for "Lars and the Real Girl" to come out in local theaters! Described as a "wholesome, old-fashioned film about a churchgoer who falls in love with his sex doll," Ryan Gosling is the lead! I LOOOVE Ryan Gosling!
The movie is supposed to be kind of a dark comedy, and those are my favorite. It really sounds hilarious. I read about it in Yahoo! Entertainment here.

Well, I am sure I had other things to talk about, but this whole sex doll thing kind of gave me a mind block. ha!

I'm off to see my mom in South Carolina for the weekend, so peace out suckas!

Superbad = SuperRAD

So who else went to see 'Superbad' over the weekend???

I. LOVED. IT.

Honestly, I couldn't stop laughing, and neither could hardly anyone else in the theater.

The 2 main characters, Seth and Evan, are hilarious! And I thought that Fogell (McLovin, or Fagell) was awesome and a great addition to the two-some!
Seth Rogen (who also appeared in 'Knocked Up' & '40 Year Old Virgin') and Evan Goldberg both wrote the screenplay, and started on it when they were 13. The 2 of them have been best friends, and Seth and Evan in the movie are loosley based on themselves.

I am seeing that there are some bad reviews or comments on the movie, which is ridiculous. Obviously from seeing the previews you know it's just a fun movie, if you're too tight-assed to understand that, you shouldn't be going to see it.

I wish I could write reviews, but I'm really not good at that.

Another movie I saw over the weekend, 'The Number 23'. I liked it a lot, too. It was absolutely crazy, though. (But, I always thoroughly enjoy the messed up ones.) So, it did not disappoint me. That's another movie that got some bad reports about the writing, and plot, etc.
It's one of those movies that I wouldn't mind seeing a few more times in order to analyze and understand it better. You know, like, "Ohhhh, I get that now!"
Anyone else see either of these yet? What do you think?
